iCloud Mail
Use the iCloud Mail address that receives your alerts. Your Apple Account sign-in address may be different from your iCloud Mail address.
1. Generate an app-specific password
- Sign in at account.apple.com.
- Ensure your Apple Account has two-factor authentication enabled.
- Under Sign-In and Security, select App-Specific Passwords.
- Select Generate an app-specific password, follow the prompts, and use a recognizable label such as
FinOpsBricks Transactionswhen asked. - Copy the generated password for Transactions.
Apple requires two-factor authentication for these passwords. See Apple's app-specific password instructions.
2. Connect in Transactions
Open Settings → Mailboxes → Connect mailbox:
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Provider | Other (IMAP) |
| Email address | Your full iCloud Mail address, such as [email protected] |
| IMAP host | imap.mail.me.com |
| Port | 993 |
| App password | The generated Apple app-specific password |
| Folder | INBOX |
| Use TLS | On |
Apple lists a username that is usually the part before @, with the full address as an alternative. Transactions currently uses the full Email address for login and does not expose a separate username field. Try your full iCloud Mail address; if your account requires the short username, this form cannot represent that setting. Contact Transactions support rather than changing the email field to an invalid address. See Apple's IMAP settings.
Select Connect mailbox, then check your first import.
If a working connection stops
Changing or resetting your primary Apple Account password revokes app-specific passwords. Generate a new one, then disconnect and reconnect the mailbox in Transactions. You can revoke unused passwords under Sign-In and Security → App-Specific Passwords. See Apple's password management guidance.
